Last day to order diplomas
Feb. 19 is the last day for seniors to order diplomas. There is a sign-up list in the front office with all the senior’s names on it, which students must check to make sure that their names will be listed correctly on their diplomas.
According to DHS substitute secretary Luisa Nye, if a student does not come in to verify their name, the name their diploma will have will be “what’s on the list—misspelled or not.”
Although the 19th is technically the last day to check the names, Secretary Loyla Vogel said, “we could extend it to Tuesday and Wednesday” at the latest. This is because names must be given to Jostens as quickly as possible.
To change their name on the list, seniors must bring official proof of their legal name such as a birth certificate, driver’s license or passport. If a student does not check their name and it is printed incorrectly on their diploma, they must pay $10 to order a new diploma with their correct name.
