Every year, St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated by people all over the world, and inspires many students to get festive.
“My parents make a traditional dinner of beef and cabbage and I wear green in order to show my Irish pride,” senior Mary Collins said.
Collins is one of many DHS students who participate in this holiday in order to “celebrate their culture.”
Even though the holiday is a major celebration for many Americans, its origin stems from St. Patrick who lived in Ireland in the fifth century AD.
“I think it’s a great way to show people about Irish culture and make people more aware of their history,” Collins said.
