House Open for Future Students
This year’s Open House was geared towards future DHS students rather than current ones.
“The goal of tonight is to share the great things our staff and students have to offer, and to introduce the campus to new students and parents,” Vice Principal Tom McHale said.
Current freshman Will Ebeler was on hand to get a feel for the campus: “I am here just to see what different rooms and different teachers are like,” he said.
The future students saw endless entertainment from Pep Band, cheerleaders, Jazz Choir and other clubs. Student Government also dominated the Quad with a barbeque.
Once the entertainment slowed, the future students saw collaborated presentations by departments. For example, the DHS math department showcased itself through a demonstration of computer programs used to enhance understanding, and the foreign language department presented skits.
