DHS seniors camp out on the quad

HUB Correspondent–Sounds of a guitar could be heard as DHS students walked onto campus the morning of June 9. The soft melody lead curious students to the DHS quad where a campsite of seven camping tents sat in ring together. Thirty DHS seniors emerged out of the tents ready for their last day of school.
The seniors had spent the entire night on DHS’s quad playing games, singing songs and playing guitar, playing football and hanging out, according to senior Alex O’Hearn.
“We wanted this to be a prank but it turned out not to be because administration was okay with it,” he said. Both the DHS administration and Davis Police Department verified the event.
Senior Camille Dunn, who also spent the night on the quad, felt that the experience was a great bonding memory with her classmates.
“It was so much fun; we played sardines (the opposite of hide and go seek) at night and just cuddled and bonded with each other,” she said.
O’Hearn hopes that the senior camping night will become a tradition for DHS seniors. “Hopefully next year carries this on,” he said.
