Back-to-School Night brings parents, teachers together
The parents of DHS students will flood the campus at 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 for this year’s Back-to-School Night.
The parents will first attend an “all-parents” assembly and then proceed to their child’s classes.
“[The purpose] is to have these parents feel what it’s like to be [a student],” Vice Principal Stacy Desideri said. “It’s definitely aimed for families of current Davis High students.”
According to Desideri, Back-to-School Night is a great way for parents to learn about the time students spend at school.
“The parents have an opportunity to meet with all your teachers,” she said. “The more you know about your child’s school, the more you can get involved.”
The vice principal also remarked that the turnout has been “excellent” in past years. This event has been coordinated for a long time with the date being set as early as last spring.
Desideri said that the students received a schedule of Back-to-School Night at the “paperwork parade” over the summer and additional information was sent out electronically to parents in the daily bulletin.
