Third “Hangover” proves to be giant headache

The third movie to “The Hangover” trilogy offered a very different plot to the first movies. The first movie was about four friends who travel to Las Vegas, Nev. for a bachelor party before Doug Billing (Justin Bartha), gets married in Los Angeles, Calif. The second movie follows a similar plotline, but this time around, the four friends travel to Bangkok to celebrate the marriage of Stu Price (Ed Helms).
“The Hangover Part III” ditched the marriage scene and went for a different approach. Doug, Stu and Phil (Bradley Cooper), are escorting their emotionally challenged friend Alan (Zach Galifianakis) to a rehab clinic in Arizona when they get run off the road. The whole movie consists of Stu, Phil and Alan searching for an escaped criminal, Chow (Ken Jeong).
The first “Hangover” was hilarious and deservedly became an unexpected hit. The appeal is gone after the two sequels. “The Hangover Part III” contains crude jokes about death that were probably meant to be humor, but come nowhere near close. The first ten minutes of the movie contains the decapitation of a giraffe as shown in some previews, something that has barely any relevance to the plot. Mostly, the third movie seems like a desperate attempt to gain more money. One can see why the first two movies brought in such a huge crowd of fans, but the outcome of the final movie in the trilogy is simply disappointing.
