Veteran’s Day ceremony lives on

Veterans, elected officials, firefighters, boy scouts, and even the Davis High Madrigals came and participated in the Veteran’s Day ceremony at the Davis cemetery on Nov. 11..
Veterans and their loved ones proudly poured into the area as the ceremony started at exactly 10:59 a.m., signifying the time, 95 years ago, when the armistice with Germany was signed.
The ceremony, fueled by heartfelt speakers remembering the fallen veterans and the Madrigal’s alluring voices, is very important to the Davis veterans who fought bravely and sacrificed for their country.
To the veterans, it is a day to “[honor] all of our partners who have gone in the past fighting for what I have now, what you have now, freedom,” veteran Fred Bryner said.
“You remember your brothers in the service, who have fallen,” Bryner said.
Bryner believes that even after they come back from fighting for their country, they feel the need to serve more, so they do whether through taking political office, or even just fixing a community problem.
Bryner served in the United States infantry for three years.
The Madrigals performed many songs, including amazing grace and all of the different divisions of the military’s songs.
The Madrigals “love it and do it every year,” junior Abby Soler said. Soler participates because she wants to help “remember the fallen soldiers.”
“I would like to thank all the veterans for what they have done for our country,” Soler said.
