In its first home league game, the Davis High men’s lacrosse team dominated Bella Vista on Friday, March 18, with a final score of 26-1. Junior Rowan Hart led the Devils with six goals.
In the first quarter alone, the Blue Devils scored ten goals, while their opponents tallied none.
Senior Jake Hammond and sophomore Casey Aikawa didn’t lose a single faceoff to their opponents.
“Going 100 percent on faceoffs is just unheard of,” sophomore Ethan Iacono noted.
Coach Nick Juri was satisfied with Davis’ performance in the win.
“I loved how our guys showed fire and energy early in the game,” Juri said. “They played hard for 48 minutes and took care of business.”
Despite the moral-boosting game, Juri quickly shifted focus.
“Every win is nice, but we are always looking for the next one and we are looking to continue to get better as we go,” he said.
Junior Liam Condon discussed how the team will prepare for tougher opponents this season.
“Every day at practice we are working on strengthening our defense and improving our offense,” Condon said. “I do expect to watch some film on more difficult opponents like Granite Bay and Oak Ridge.”
