The Davis High Intermediate/Advanced Dance class has been hard at work putting together a show for Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Richard Brunelle Performance Hall. The show is entitled “Dreaming in Color.”

Tickets are available for a pre-sale price of $8 for students or at the door for $10.

DHS dance teacher Pamela Trokanski anticipates seeing how the show comes together and is excited for the students.

“The dancers experience the culmination of all of their hard work,” she said.

“Dreaming in Color” is composed of a series of pieces–group dances, solos, duets and trios–almost all of which have been choreographed by the students.

Junior Devi Varma is excited and a little nervous about performing.

“I’m most excited for the actual dancing, and getting up there in front of people,” she said.

The class has worked hard all year in preparation for this show. Students split into teams in order to plan and prepare for the show with as much independence as possible.

“We literally did everything from choreography to making the program to figuring out ticket prices,” Varma explained. “Pam just walked us through and got us the IPAB, but we did everything else.”

Junior Shybria Roberts is looking forward to showing “diversity in dance styles;” the dancers have put together a dance program that includes African, contemporary, jazz, hip hop and bollywood, but is mainly focused on ballet.
