Arriving at 5 p.m. to set up their bake sale, members of the DHS Best Buddies club prepared to sell an array of baked goods to raise awareness and money for their club.
Best buddies is an inclusive club comprised of students of all abilities. The club allows students to form strong bonds and connect through various activities.
LISTEN to club president senior Vinita Saxena discuss the success of the bake sale:
“It’s really cool how I get to make great friends,” junior Francesca Bastino said, commenting about her participation in the club.
The downtown studio the bake sale took place at showcases the work of artist Alexandra Dao, who has autism.
The studio’s purpose is to “have the community learn about people with disabilities…and what they’re capable of,” studio owner Kim Dao said.
