With school starting at 8:15 a.m., students are usually in a rush to get ready for the school day ahead of them. Breakfast can be tricky to make because it requires time that most students can’t spare, so many choose to skip breakfast completely.
Skipping breakfast may save a student time in the morning but it also causes some negative effects. A study conducted by Zainab Taha and Ayesha Rashed published in the Arab Journal of Nutrition and Exercise found that students who eat breakfast perform better academically compared to those who don’t eat breakfast.
Here are a variety of different quick and easy breakfast foods that could ultimately help all students who are rushing to get to school in the morning.
Oatmeal
One of these quick and easy foods is oatmeal. Oatmeal is very easy to make and you have the ability to put a wide range of different toppings on the oatmeal to make it delicious.
According to food.com, for basic oatmeal, you will need: a half cup of rolled oats, five ounces of water, one to two dashes of salt, one one-eighth teaspoon of cinnamon and one to two teaspoons of brown sugar. Combine all of the ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave the mixture on high for two minutes. After it’s out of the microwave, feel free to add different toppings such as fruits or walnuts to make the meal even more tasty.
Avocado toast
Avocado toast is another quick and scrumptious dish that can easily be made in the morning.
For avocado toast, realsimple.com says that you will need: one or two slices of toasted bread, one sliced avocado, one tablespoon of olive oil, one teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch of kosher salt. Put the avocado on top of the toasted bread and slightly mash it up with a fork. Drizzle the oil and lemon juice, and add the salt.
Frozen waffles
Another idea for a quick breakfast are frozen waffles. This product is cheap and easy to locate at a grocery store.
Place the waffles in the microwave and microwave them for 30 to 40 seconds. Afterwards, you can adorn them with syrup, fruit or anything else you might like.
