Davis High held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the new robotics building on May 24.

The new building is fitted with a 54 by 27 foot practice course, which is standard size. Both the robotics team and class will utilize the space to perfect their code and drive robots. In addition, the facility comes with 7,800 square ft of instructional space, a massive upgrade to the original building which could barely house the entire team.
“(The building) is amazing. We have a lot more access to new machinery and new tools,” junior Cameron Bannasch said.

The building includes an advanced manufacturing facility with Haas Manufacturing equipment. These new tools will help the robotics team manufacture plastic and metal parts for future robots.

These new machines aren’t just beneficial for students now but also in their life after high school. “Students who are training on machines like this are going to be able to take these skills into industry,” captain Mike Corsetto said.
