The Davis High Blue Devils defeated the Inderkum Tigers on Thursday, August 29, 226-264, in their first match of the season.
Sophomore Bella Trask had her best match so far. She had the lowest score of the day, 41. “I just looked forward and tried to do my best on the next shot,” Trask said.
Junior Mehr Jaijee wasn’t far behind, scoring 43. Together, their efforts led the Devils to victory.
“The team is looking better this year,” head coach Dan Ariola said. With everyone returning except for one player this year, the team hopes to make playoffs for the second year in a row.
“It was nice to have a home match before league play starts,” Jaijee said.
This is the first year DHS will be in the Sierra Foothill League. Even though the “new league is loaded,” it “doesn’t change anything for us,” Ariola said.
“I am looking forward to playing new courses,” Jaijee said.
The Blue Devil’s first league match will be at home on Tuesday, September 3rd.
