On Tuesday, September 3rd, the Davis High women’s varsity golf team faced Folsom High at the Wildhorse Golf Course in North Davis. DHS proved victorious with a score of 210, beating Folsom’s 236. The winner was determined by adding up the five lowest scores on each team to get the match’s final score.
Senior Alessandra Trask and sophomore Lily Lingbloom tied for the best score of the day, shooting a respective 38, only two over par. Junior Mehr Jaijee also shot low, with a score of 42.
“Lily and Alessandra were unbelievable today,” Head Coach Dan Ariola said. “Our goal is to break the bogey,” Ariola said, which the team did by breaking the goal of a score under 225.
Lingbloom said her goal for this season is to improve her iron shots. “I’m looking forward to improving my game moving forward and making it to sections,” Lingbloom said.
Ariola said that with the league change, they play harder teams this year. Despite the difficulty of the competition, Ariola said the team’s goal is to make it to sections this year.
