Davis High’s women’s varsity volleyball team triumphed over the Franklin Wildcats on Wednesday Sept. 5 in a 3-0 win. The Devils remained in control nearly the whole game, thanks to successful offensive.
Senior Kaylie Adams’ had the first serve, and DHS scored the first point after a short rally. Adams came in again for the second point, this time serving an ace.
Adams’ run didn’t end there. She “played consistently and confidently (throughout the whole game),” head coach Julie Crawford said.
Davis won the first set 25-17. The second set was shorter than the first, with the Devils winning 25-13.
Davis went into the third set confident, cheering each other on, parents yelling names and players chanting.
The Devils remained in the lead through a course of offensive plays, with multiple sets from senior Rowan Reising leading to a spike from sophomore Emily Spence.
A blocked hit from junior Juliana Van Boxtel, an out of bounds serve, and another foul led to the Devil’s securing a victory, making them one step closer to playoffs.
