The Davis High varsity women’s golf team defeated the Whitney Wildcats on Tuesday, September 10, 215-253. The match was played at the Wildhorse Golf Course in North Davis.
Coach Dan Ariola is ecstatic with the way the Devils have been playing. The Devils shot their “best round ever last week,” Ariola said. After their spectacular performance last week shooting 210, it was “amazing to follow it up with 215,” Ariola said.
The whole team played exceptionally with a team average of 43. Both junior Chloe Jang and sophomore Isabel Sluis scored their all time best, both with 47. “It’s outstanding that my third group both got their all time lows,” Ariola said.
Sluis played great and hit the fairways in two shots for every hole. “I just need to work on my putting,” Sluis said. Putting can be difficult, as “it is different in each course,” Sluis said.
Ariola encourages more people to come support the team at their next home match. “It’s a good walk,” Ariola said.
