An album with ‘All the Right Moves’

OneRepublic has created an album that will leave the listener in awe of the different styles of music jammed onto one CD.

To start off the album, ‘Made For You’ pushes a requirement of different mediums to vocalize the sounds. From a heavy drum beat, to piano solos to even choir singing, the first song provides a harmonic balance between many forms of music. The song tells a story, which seemed to resonate in the following tracks. It syncs perfectly with the following song, ‘All The Right Moves.’

Although this album has a heavy use of sounds, it might be overkill. I’ve noticed myself trying to figure out which instruments were playing in the background more than anything else. Sometimes they’re so bold that the voices cannot be heard, and I forget the true point of this album, the lyrics.

Surprisingly, one of the best songs in this album is also the name of the album, ‘Waking Up.’ The lyrics are emotional, and the beautiful strings are ebullient. While listening to the song, a euphoric field entrapped the room.

Overall, the unique form of expressing pop pushed for a solid album that pleases the listener, be it with international sounds, classical pieces, or the poppy lyrics, ‘Waking Up’ is definitely an album that displays a OneRepublic.
