Leadership captures the spirit
After weeks of preparing for homecoming and school dances, the DHS Leadership class took a break from planning to recuperate.
Leadership doesn’t sit back and relax though. Their break was spent out on the DHS football field, playing capture the flag.
“It was juniors and sophomores against seniors,” junior and leadership student Stacey Perron said. “It was like our own spirit day.”
Leadership students dressed up for their game, wearing sporting attire to school. Students could be seen preparing for the big game in the Veterans Memorial parking lot before school.
“A lot of the seniors were wearing sweat bands and all of the juniors and sophomores were wearing white shirts,” Perron said.
Once the game begun during fourth period, Perron admits that there were a few discrepancies to the rules.
“There was a fair amount of cheating on our side. One of our players would block a senior, which I guess wasn’t allowed,” Perron said.
The cheaters paid the price in jail once they were tagged. Junior Kristen Lee attempted to save those imprisoned, but was flatlined by senior Kevin Concolino.
Lee believes that she was the one to tackle Concolino.
“People should ask Kevin how he is, because I think I really bruised him up,” Lee said.
Despite the rough play the game ended tied zero-to-zero.
