The ACME Theatre Company is presenting “A Servant of Two Masters” for its annual Memorial Day weekend play.

The play, a Renaissance-era slapstick comedy, will be shown on the Davis Art Center’s outdoor stage.

Technical challenges come with an outdoor production, as well as additional problems with keeping the audience focused and entertained.

“We’re in the middle of a park,” play director Emily Henderson said. “Someone will come by on a skateboard, the ice cream truck will drive by . . . you really have to fight to keep their attention.

However, Leah Julian, a junior who plays Truffildino, an eponymous servant, enjoys acting outdoors.

“Sometimes I just feel really closed up [in an indoors theater]. When you’re outside, […] I think the sun gives you energy,” Julian said.

“A Servant of Two Masters” will run from May 27 to 30, each night at 7 p.m.
