DHS men’s varsity basketball team 1-1 in Morro Bay tournament

Dec. 2- The DHS men’s varsity basketball team is 1-1 in Morro Bay.

The Blue Devils dropped their first game of the tournament on Dec 1. 67-104 to Liberty High School  of Bakersfield, Calif..

Junior point guard Hayden Russel led the team with 16 points.

The team then went on to play Templeton High School from Templeton, Calif. on Dec. 2. The Blue Devils defeated Templeton 80-25.

Russel carried the team once again with 18 points in the game.

Senior guard Tyler Sousa was out with a knee injury, and junior center Kevin Sorensen was out ill in the game against Templeton. Both are expected to be back for the team’s next game against Independence High School at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 3.

The DHS women’s varsity basketball team lost to St. Francis 32-59 on Dec. 1 in an exhibition match.
