The Blue Devils started out flat but they did start playing better as the game progressed. However, it wasn’t enough as they lost to Elk Grove 42 – 18, on Friday Nov. 2.
“It was as if we [Blue Devils] played three quarters and they [Elk Grove] played four,” head coach Mike Satre said. He wasn’t disappointed with his team though. “When executed right, they really were a darn good team.”
Some of the players though were disappointed with their last game.
“It was such bull,” Jose Flores said. “We could have played so much better.” Flores said that they started out too slow and that was shown through the first play of the game.
Nathan Curtis agreed. “We could have done a lot better,” Curtis said. However, the team has grown so much according to Curtis. Even though their last game wasn’t that great, he “still had a blast!” he said.
Bailey Yarrow also acknowledged the growth of the team. “We played really good this season,” Yarrow said. However, Yarrow also noticed the areas that they needed improvement. “We need to work on better offense and defense,” he said.
Quentin McCray looked at the positive side of the season. “Even though we lost, we still had a winning season.” The Blue Devils went 6 – 4 this season. McCray also acknowledged his team’s effort in the last game. “We played really good,” he said.
