Student Government care packages come with love

The Davis High Student Government class will be shipping care packages across the ocean to soldiers in Afghanistan on Feb. 1, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The class collected donations before winter break and volunteers helped put 14 boxes together on Jan. 14.

The goodies the volunteers stuffed inside the boxes included candy, Girl Scout cookies, magazines, lotion, movies, Davis High t-shirts and cards. The extra magazines, movies, and other donations will be given to the Yolo Military Families group.

Student Government originally planned to have the packages made during Senior Week, but was moved so that the packages could be mailed in time for Valentine’s Day.
