The Madrigals, Advanced Treble Choir and Concert Choir put on a lovely, fun, and stress free Pops Concert on Thursday, May 30.
With classic songs such as “L.O.V.E” by Nat King Cole to more modern songs like “Skinny Love” by Bon Hiver, the Pops Concert had a little something fun and enjoyable for everyone.
The students chose their own music and led a lot of the preparations for the show. According to sophomore and Madrigals member, Elisa McIsaac, the choirs were very proud and happy with how it turned out.
“The finale was awesome, and I thought everyone’s solos were beautiful,” Mclsaac said.
Junior and ATC member Tessa Nelson also agrees that the concert was successful even though they had to rush through the preparations.
The finale included an ensemble from “Les Misérables” performed by all three choirs, which ended with a standing ovation from the audience.
The concert also featured many solos, duets, small groups and whole choir numbers, as well as some dancing mixed within the singing.
At the end of the concert, senior Andrew Block was awarded the Richard Brunell award for his dedication to Madrigals throughout his time at Davis High School.
