A look ahead at the DHS varsity football schedule

The end of summer inevitably signals the beginning of school for nearly every student across the United States. But there’s a silver lining to everything, and the start of school means that football season is on the horizon and approaching quickly.

Although some teams have already participated in some scrimmages, the high school football season officially starts on Sept. 5 for the entire Sac Joaquin Section.

This year also marks the advent of the two power conferences in the SJS: the Delta League and the Sierra Football League. The DHS football team is in the Delta League and will play teams such as Elk Grove, Grant, Pleasant Grove, Franklin, Jesuit, Monterey Trail and Sheldon.
