The DHS Cheerleaders held an annual Cheerleading Clinic fundraiser from 1-4 on Sunday, Sept 27.
Children from 4 to 10 years old were welcomed to the south gym where they learned the basics of cheerleading. The day was packed with games such as Simon Says, Pirate Ship, and also included cheer instruction from various Davis High Cheerleaders.
“The highlight of the event would probably be the games because watching the little kids run around and figure out how to play all these games is really funny,” said junior Alyssa Vitangcol.
Juniors Kathleen Pan and Vitangcol were paired to demonstrate various cheer jumps and were very involved in the event.
“It’s a big Davis High Cheer fundraiser event that we do every year,” said Pan. “We are teaching them all the basics of cheer, and the kids who came also get a ticket to the next home game and they will cheer with us on youth night,” she added.
The day was a nice time to relax after homecoming week. Sophomore Rachel Ramirez recognizes the stress that comes with homecoming and trying to perform her best on the field.
“It’s more laid-back teaching the little boys and girls how to do everything, and definitely really cute,” Ramirez said.
