The Davis High JV women’s water polo team offense had an electric start scoring nine goals in the first quarter on Sept. 30 at Aroyo Pool. From there the Devils didn’t look back and ended the game with a score 13-1.
The high-powered Blue Devil offense was sparked by freshman Sophia Dolan who scored the first goal within the first two minutes. Dolan’s goal was immediatly followed by two more goals from sophomore Annelise Fullerton who turned out to be the team’s leading scorer. From then on the Devils continued to light up the score board.
Davis also played well defensively shutting out Granite Bay through the entire second half. Granite Bay was limited in numbers during the game and quickly grew tired from the aggressive Blue Devil defense.
“We had good team work and cooperation,” said coach Elsie Fullerton. The Blue Devils had very little errors throughout the game and executed well.
“We Practiced hard and had good communication,” sophomore Tori Van Court said. Van Court is the team’s captain and scored two goals.
The Blue Devils will play at Napa this Friday and Saturday in the Crusher Classic tournament.
