The Davis High men’s volleyball program experienced an influx of members this year, around 30 players in total. Gaining more than 20 players from 2013, the volleyball teams have been growing; however, the players experienced a lack of equipment and resorted to selling Simply Goodness cookie dough to help pay for it.
The cookie dough costs $16 a package, weighs about 2.5 pounds and it is pre-cut into 40 pieces. The flavors include chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, white chocolate and macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin and M&M.
Volleyball players plan on selling the dough from Feb. 25 to March 11, and will be delivering the it on April 6. Senior Dominic Fannijang plays for the varsity volleyball team and is looking for people to sell cookie dough to pay for the team’s net equipment, ball machines and other volleyball gear.
“I’m confident that our fundraiser will be successful and that it’ll pay for most of the equipment that we need,” Fannijang said.
Students can purchase the cookie dough directly from the volleyball players or connect with them through email or facebook.
“I think its great that the boy’s volleyball program is getting stronger every year and I hope that our program can continue to attract players and introduce new players to volleyball,” Fannijang said.
