ELECTION: Results revealed

Republican candidate Donald J. Trump defeats Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.
Trump won 279 electoral votes, putting him over the 270 needed to win the presidency. Clinton fell short at 214. However, Clinton won the popular vote.
Clinton, however, won California with 61 percent. She also won in Davis, which did not have a single of its precincts go Republican.
Democrat Kamala D. Harris won the California U.S. Senate seat with 62. 5 percent of the vote.
Statewide Propositions:
- Proposition 58: California votes to have multilingual education with 72.4 percent of the vote.
- Proposition 62: California votes not to repeal the death penalty with 53.9 percent of the vote.
- Proposition 64: California votes to legalize marijuana with 56 percent of the vote.
- Proposition 67: California votes to ban single-use plastic bags with 52 percent of the vote.
In local election results, Democrat John Garamendi won California’s third district congressional seat with 73 percent of the vote. Democrat Bill Dodd won the third state senate district. Democrat Cecilia Aguiar-Curry won fourth district assembly seat with 69.7 percent of the vote.
Measure H passes in Davis with 71 percent of the vote.
