Not far down Road 102 is a pizza place that might tempt you. This pizza place is MOD Pizza, which has been open since mid January.
The restaurant offers either make your own or premade pizzas, many of which are unique and full of flavor. After walking through the door, an onslaught of smells and sounds hits like a wave.
The menu on the wall lays out the multiple options for the meal, an 11 inch pizza, a 6 inch pizza or a salad of your own choosing. The salad options are Caeser, the Deluxe salad (greens, chicken, salami, green bell peppers, garbanzos, tomatoes, olives and parmesan) or the Simple salad ( greens, roasted red peppers and asiago cheese).
The Dillon James, one of MOD’s standard pizzas is a thin crusted pie coated in red sauce, mozzarella and asiago cheeses, basil, garlic and tomatoes. The result is a light and airy delicious meal.
Along with their standard pizzas, MOD has seasonal pizzas. Currently that pizza is the Crosby. This is a thin crusted pizza covered in red sauce, mild sausage, asparagus tips, and once it’s done baking, coated in a sweet fig glaze.
Despite the pizzas being delicious, the Caesar salad leaves something to be desired. The lettuce and croutons were good, as well as the diced tomatoes thrown in. The dressing, however, was bland and relatively tasteless.
The service is fabulous. The pizza makers are quick and efficient and had the pies out in 10 minutes. The wait staff is kind and friendly and very aware of the customers’ needs.
All in all, MOD Pizza is a quality establishment with good food and friendly wait staff.
