The Davis High varsity women’s water polo team beat St. Mary High at home on Oct. 20.
At half-time, DHS was in the lead with a score of 13-1. At the end of the night The Blue Devils took the win with a score of 22-3.
“We played with a lot of drive and intensity,” junior Malaya Wright said. “I’m typically more of a defensive player but I was able to get out there and score some goals.”
Wright scored seven of the 22 points for Davis.
It was their last non-league game, and senior night for the graduating class of Blue Devils.
“It’s like we’re passing the torch,” senior goalie Maddie Walker said.
Davis is currently ranked fourth in the state, after the Soquel Knights and right above Clovis West.
