Helmus Optometry held a Roaring Twenties themed Frame Show on Oct. 28th.
The frame show was a trunk-style event where they debuted two new frame lines. The first line was MASUNAGA frames, a high-quality line made in Japan. The second line they debuted was Shwood Eyewear, a frame made exclusively from wood, produced in Oregon. Some of the old styles were out on display as well.
“We want some recognition for the new brands we are bringing in. We like individuals, we like private-owned eyewear lines that do eyewear specifically because they are going to have a quality product that people will really be able to love for years,” said Josee Rivera, the Optical Administrator at Helmus Optometry.
The event was held in Suite A upstairs pilates studio right above Helmus Optometry, located in downtown Davis. Employees dressed as flappers and other twenties outfits and guests were invited to show up in costume.
“We were trying to figure out something fun to do since it has been a few years. We wanted to do something fun, something colorful that we could all dress up and all be a little fancy today,” Rivera said.
Attendees of the event enjoyed the atmosphere.
“Helmus Optometry went all out. The music fit the vibe perfectly. All the employees seemed to be enjoying themselves in costume and brought the theme to life,” Da Vinci High senior Taylor Toy said.
Although the event is over, exclusive frame styling appointments are available via appointment on weekdays.
