A group of seniors from the class of 24’ rallied together during the week of Oct.16 at senior Tory Agnew’s house in order to create an epic country-themed float for Davis High’s Homecoming.

Every senior who participated strived to produce an impactful and creative float for the parade.

This year, the senior class utilized a trailer to transport their float, staying committed to the country theme. A couple hay bales rested on the back of the trailer with the word “seniors” spray painted in brown across them. Red barn doors were placed towards the front of the trailer.

“We just want to go all out,” Agnew said. They did this successfully, even purchasing plastic mini-horses for people to sit on and using fire to burn the westernized posters they made, giving them a rustic look.

“The burning stuff, that was fun, don’t know if it was allowed, but it was fun,” senior Eli Fanous said.

As it is their final year at DHS, many seniors feel that their float is more significant than other floats. “It’s our last year, and we [tend] to put a little more effort in,” Agnew said.

“This is kind of like our send-off,” senior Emmet Ganter said.

The seniors strongly recommend that students take part in float building. “One of the most important things is just being involved on campus and this is a super easy way,” Agnew said.

Senior Cody Leveau wishes he got involved earlier. “I’m glad I could do it my senior year,” Leveau said. “The more people we have, the more we get done, the better it’ll look.”
