Tensions are high as the Varsity Football team prepares for their homecoming game against Pleasant Grove.
“It’s gonna be something else,” senior football player Brehn Cobian said.
Davis was scheduled to play Pleasant Grove as they were an easier team to beat last year, but with Pleasant Grove’s wins this season, they’re excited to see the outcome of the game.
Taking it day by day, the players get prepared for their last home game and second to last game of the season.
“Enjoy the week, day by day,” senior Quarterback Sawyer Schoen said.
With many seniors on the team, they’re preparing for their last homecoming game and what they want their legacy at Davis High to look like.
Some want to be recognized by their ability on the field, “I want to be remembered as the loudest person on the field always,” senior Nicholas Davis said.
Others want to be remembered as the type of teammate they were, “I just want to be remembered as like a good guy on the field and off the field. Like a good overall teammate,” Schoen said.
In his second year of coaching football at DHS, Coach Nicholas Garratt feels ready for this game. “We’re going to treat it like every other game,” Garratt said.
As they mentally prepare themselves for this game, they remind themselves of what’s important.
“[What motivates me is] playing and helping my brothers win,” Davis said.
The Blue Devils are hyped, motivated, and ready to win!
