A secret message spelled out with randomly placed capital letters in a sentence. Slyly placing the name of an unreleased song in an old music video. Posting a photo of a snake on Instagram with no context, hinting at her next album release.
Taylor Swift is known for using easter eggs. Whether it’s to hint at an album or song release, or even a future song feature, Swift loves to place hidden messages on her Instagram, website, or sometimes in her song lyrics.
On April 9, 2021, Swift released her first of many re-recorded albums, “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)”.
Swift announced that she would be re-recording every album that she didn’t own, so that she could finally own the rights to her own music.
So far, Swift has released four out of the six albums she plans to re-record. Sources say that all clues point to her album, “Reputation” being the next album she will re-record.
Swift placing snakes in the lettering of her Instagram post announcing “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” was clearly a clue for her next album release. Snakes are known as the iconic symbol of her “Reputation” era.
The night before the release of “1989 (Taylor’s version),” Swift posted a short video of her holding a mug, which had a clock inside of it; showing the amount of time left before the album release.
Swift’s hands are shown holding the mug, one of her hands with blue painted nails, one painted black. Blue being the main color of her 1989 era, black the color of her “Reputation” era.
Although Swift tends to paint her nails all different colors on a daily basis, this was definitely not a coincidence.
Something Swift loves to do before album releases is give fans a snippet of her re-recorded songs, months before their release.
In early August, “Delicate (Taylor’s Version)” premiered in “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Then, a few weeks later, “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” was used for the “Wilderness” teaser trailer.
Not to mention, Swift has recently been seen wearing darker-colored outfits, which fit the dark vibe of her “Reputation” album. A black jumpsuit with big black sunglasses, a pair of black shorts and a white button-down, a two-piece black pin-stripe suit set. Considering her clothes tend to mirror the music she’s working on, these outfits seem like clear easter eggs.
Is Swift clowning us with these potential clues? Or are the Swifties onto something…
