On Thursday, September 19, Davis High’s Women’s golf team faced Rocklin High School, playing the front nine at the Wildhorse golf course.
The match ended in a victory for DHS, with a score of 224 to Rocklin’s 231, Junior Mehr Jaijee shooting a personal best.
“I think I did a good job just staying level-headed this round, not worrying about the score too much, and just focusing on the next shot,” Jaijee said.
Wildhorse, one of the main courses in Davis, is more straightforward and a little easier than some, according to Jaijee. “I think we’re improving,” Jaijee said. “We’re playing a lot of harder courses, too, so it’s making us a lot better as a team.”
The Devils found overall success on the day and “have been playing well and are really solid all the way through the lineup,” coach Dan Ariola said.
Their current standing in their league matches is 4-2, and they look to take as many victories as possible with this new “loaded league,” as Ariola calls it.
