On Friday June 13, family, friends and loved ones gathered to celebrate Davis High’s 2025 graduates. All had cameras, signs and flowers to commemorate the seniors on their big day.

At exactly 7 p.m., seniors took their seats to the orchestra’s “Pomp and Circumstance,”. Principal Bryce Geigle then gave a speech congratulating the Class of 2025 on its accomplishments throughout high school.

“This is the best part about my job, it is making sure that we support students to get to this night, and be able to watch them cross this stage into the next part of their journey,” Geigle said.

Four student speakers took to the podium, each contributing their own advice and journey to the audience. Seniors Mako Barrios, Quincy Harrington King, Carlos Chavez Anaya and Katherine McMullen each shared their unique reflections throughout high school, ranging from TV references to the Sacramento road traffic.

Following the student speeches and a performance from the DHS choir, seniors walked the stage and received their diplomas, marking the end of their high school careers.

“I think the ceremony was amazing, it gave students the chance to be recognized by peers and family,” senior Charm Blackwell said.

Those that came to support graduates also enjoyed the celebration, such as Blackwell’s mother Ebony McClain.

“My favorite part was the student speakers and the motivational speaking they did, and their stories,” McClain said.
