The Davis High varsity women’s lacrosse team lost to St. Francis on April 23 with a score of 7-3.

After shouting out all the graduating seniors, the Blue Devils had a tough time keeping up with St. Francis. However, the team was determined to give it their all.

Senior Olivia Ayson emphasized the team’s defense and team chemistry that helped them push throughout the game.

“Overall I think our defense was really solid,” Ayson said. “We just had to get some offensive plays going and then get that (team) chemistry rolling so we can get those goals.”

The team pushed each other and ultimately scored three points in the last quarter of the game.

“We had our stick in the game and we (got) more points because we were pushing really hard,” senior Seneca Wattanapanich said.

Though it didn’t go as well as the team hoped, it didn’t get them down, as the team celebrated the rest of the Senior Night by boosting team morale through flowers, signs and encouraging words.

According to head coach Nilo Ayson, the team plans to continue strengthening their team chemistry and start getting ready for next year’s players.

“It’s gonna be tough losing these veterans that have played so long (…) so it’s definitely gonna be a rebuilding year and a learning year (next year),” Ayson said.
